UMID is a secure national system to assist identification through DNA, biometrics, and cross-jurisdictional records — aiding families and forensic investigations.
UMID integrates lab findings, chain-of-custody records, and interoperable matching algorithms to accelerate identification. The system follows strict privacy & access control measures. Authorized forensic units can query anonymized datasets; family liaison teams use guided workflows for sample submission. All analyses are logged and auditable.

How to Identify a Body
- Search the database for results according to the information you have or any close relative.
- Directly reach out to any of our centres with the location information.
- Find all documents that are required for the official identification.
- Provide a Saliva/Blood sample of the claimant (as a blood relative) for subsequent DNA matching.
- Inform the concerned police officials of your findings and actions.
